Guiding Star

Christmas present for my sister-in-law (I don't think she looks at my deviantart page... let's hope not!). When she and my brother were dating, they took me and my little sister with them to go star gazing during a meteor shower. My big brother was holding her and looking at her. When a shooting star came (which looked very similar to the one in the piece), everyone started screaming and pointing up to it and saying "Look! Look!" but my big brother just kept looking at his sweetheart. I thought it was romantic, and hence wrote the super corny/cheesy poem you see on the piece.

Gah I made my big brother look like a muppet!! I needed to color his face with light bright colors to make his gaze the focal point of the piece (besides the writing).

Took me... about 2 weeks to make, on and off? I am SO glad it's done! ^^ ; It's about 2 X 3 feet or so.

As you can tell I got really lazy with putting all the scans together... it's especially bad on the bottom right corner. I had to scan it 8 times and eventually was like "Whatever, I don't care if I get this perfect!"

There's supposed to be a terrible blizzard tonight. X_X
